A Poem by our newest member, Catriona
ALOOF
(OPENING/CLOSING)
I detest feminist movies
You said.
And now you’re seated next to me
Aloof and impersonal
Wrapped in the warmth of
Your red jumper.
You’re rumbling complacently
With eyes turned inward.
While
The crowd is buzzing with refined
Intellectual sounds.
And me standing in the middle,
Beside your self contained bulk.
It’s cold today.
(OPENING/CLOSING)
I detest feminist movies
You said.
And now you’re seated next to me
Aloof and impersonal
Wrapped in the warmth of
Your red jumper.
You’re rumbling complacently
With eyes turned inward.
While
The crowd is buzzing with refined
Intellectual sounds.
And me standing in the middle,
Beside your self contained bulk.
It’s cold today.
